Coaches will depart from the hotel at 8:30 a.m., with tee time starting at 10:06 a.m., and with a return to the hotel estimated at 4:00 p.m.

FAM Tour

This year, the CBA is offering convention attendees a choice of a combination all day FAM tour, beginning with whale watching with Davey's Locker and completing the day at the Lyon Air Museum, or just either the morning or the afternoon options.

Whale Watching

Join CBA for a fabulous Whale watching trip with Davey's Locker at Newport Landing. You may see giant blue whales, finback whales, gray whales and many more in their natural habitat on this whale watching cruise! With one the largest marine protected parks just outside of Newport Bay, whales and dolphin of all types may be viewed as soon as you leave the bay.

Lyon Air Museum

Founded by Major General William Lyon, Lyon Air Museum is located on the west side of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. Lyon Air Museum is collocated with Martin Aviation, an award winning jet, turbo-prop and piston-powered aircraft repair facility established in 1923 by famed aviation pioneer Eddie Martin.

The Lyon Air Museum exhibit is comprised of authentic aircraft, rare vehicles and related memorabilia, with emphasis on the defining event of the 20th century – World War II. Through captivating and thought provoking exhibits based in historical scholarship, visitors gain a better understanding of the important role the United States plays in shaping world history.

We are offering a combination of options this year, each for $35 per person. With all options, lunch will be on your own.

Option 1: Whale Watching and Lyon Air Museum Combination

With this combination, we will board the motorcoach at 7am for departure at 7:30pm en-route to Balboa Pier, Newport Beach, to arrive at the pier approximately one hour prior to embarkment as required by Davey's Locker, our charter operator.

We will embark on our whale watching tour at 9am sharp, with an approximate return between 11am-11:30am.

There will be time for lunch on the pier, after which we will return to the hotel to accommodate our Option 2 and Option 3 attendees, and then head to the Lyon Air Museum. 

Option 2: Whale Watching only

After lunch on the pier, we will return to the hotel to drop off anyone who wishes to attend the morning portion only, and to pick up any latecomers who wish to attend the afternoon portion only.

Option 3: Lyon Air Museum only

Latecomers will be picked up from the hotel after the morning tour's lunch (time TBD, please watch the agenda), at which time we will head over to the Lyon Air Museum for a 1-1/2 hour tour. We will depart the museum between 2:30-2:45 p.m. for return to the hotel by 3:00 p.m.
